Ponce Inlet, FL - Ten water birds are being released back into the wild on Wednesday after being rehabilitated at the Mary Keller Seabird Rehabilitation Sanctuary in Ponce Inlet.
Five brown pelicans, three laughing gulls, a herring gull, and a royal tern will be released. They have suffered a variety of injuries including embedded hooks and tangled fishing line.
Avian rehabilitation specialists carry out surgical procedures, medical treatments, and administer medication. All fully recovered birds are returned to their natural habitat.
The release is at 10 a.m. at Lighthouse Point Park.

Visitors can meet some permanently impaired birds that are not eligible for release along the bird boardwalk in the guest viewing area of the Marine Science Center complex.
