Public Meeting Wednesday On FDOT Projects In Daytona Beach

The Projects Are Beachside

Daytona Beach, FL - The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is hosting a public meeting on Wednesday, November 10, at 5:30 p.m. at the Ocean Center. FDOT spokesperson Jessica Ottaviano said it's to give interested parties more information and to get feedback on FDOT projects located beachside in Daytona Beach.  "They're a combination of our state roads and even local roads. We're coming together with our local partners to come up with a big master plan of what the community wants to see their Daytona area look like."

Last December, FDOT officials did a review and an evaluation of feedback on putting a roundabout at the intersection of International Speedway Boulevard and A-1-A. Ottaviano said that is a separate project and feedback at that time indicated that people did not want a roundabout there. "The preferred alternative was for an intersection improvement or an enhanced traffic signal as opposed to the roundabout. So we've been gathering feedback for that."

Tomorrow's public meeting can be attended in person, virtually, or listen-in only by phone. Ottaviano said if you attend in person, FDOT officials will be on hand from 5:30 to 7 p.m. to answer questions. "Folks can come anytime to give us any feedback and look through the presentation and some alternatives and pieces of the projects that we'd like to share."
