Port Orange Rolls Out New Online Payment System

Port Orange, FL -  Almost a year after shutting down their old online payment system, Port Orange city leaders announce that they finally have a replacement for it.

The new "user-friendly" system will be powered by a company called Paymentus and feature more payment options with no transaction fees.

The system will also utilize a brand-new "Pay Now" feature that will allow for quick payment without having to register. There will also be a new customer portal that will allow residents to view their payment history and past billing statements as well as save payment methods and enroll in autopay.

"We're excited to launch this new payment system for our utility customers," said Dr. Scott Neils, Finance Director and Chief Financial Officer for Port Orange. "We recognize that customers want flexibility, accessibility, convenience and a user-friendly experience without sacrificing security and we are pleased to be able to provide this platform for them.”

The new Paymentus system comes after the city shut down their old payment system that was developed by Click2Gov.

Back in October of 2019, Click2Gov notified customers about a "unconfirmed software issue." The following month, the city announced that they were suspending the use of Click2Gov's system indefinitely, citing possible security concerns and protocols that did not "meet the standards and expectations of the city."

The new system can be accessed through the city's website.
