Plane Crashes in DeLeon Springs, No One Injured

DELEON SPRINGS, Fla. - A small plane crashed in a field in DeLeon Springs on Sunday, according to a release from the Volusia Sheriff's Office. There was only one person aboard the plane, the pilot, and he was not harmed.

The incident reportedly started when the plane encountered an engine failure while over Volusia County. The pilot tried to make an emergency landing in a field near Chuck Lennon Park in DeLeon Springs, where it eventually came to rest.

During the landing, a wheel broke off the bottom of the plane, causing it to crash. The scary landing happened at around 9:20 am according to police.

At this time little else is publicly known about the crash.
