Palm Coast, FL – A section of the St. Joe Walkway, a popular trail in Palm Coast, will close soon.
On Monday, July 24, a half-mile portion of the trail will close for reconstruction due to cracks and damage from tree roots. The trail will be closed near the area of Canopy Walk from eastbound Palm Coast Parkway to the Intracoastal Waterway.
A detour for bicyclists and pedestrians will be posted and will direct them to Palm Harbor Parkway and the Hammock Bridge trailhead. Access to the Intracoastal Waterway between Hammock Bridge and Waterfront Park will be open for now but is subject to closures as the project moves forward.
The project is expected to take a couple weeks and will be completed by crews with the City of Palm Coast with help from Halifax Paving to repave the trail.
