33-year-old Ormond Beach resident Nicholas Nisivoccia has been arrested on over three dozen charges of possessing child pornography, according to a new report by the Volusia Sheriff's Office. As of Tuesday Nisivoccia is in custody at the Volusia County Branch Jail on 45 felony counts.
The arrest of Nisivoccia reportedly came as a result of a tip to the VSO Child Exploitation Unit by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. An investigation by the Child Exploitation Unit revealed a disturbing slate of content that Nisivoccia is alleged to have possessed.
According to the VSO's report, Nisivoccia was in possession of videos showing the sexual abuse of both female and male victims. The subjects in the videos were young minors, with ages ranging from infant to 12 years old. It's the belief of detectives who investigated the case that Nisivoccia downloaded these videos onto his personal devices. He was arrested on a staggering number of felony charges of possession of child pornography.
This newest is Nisivoccia's second time being booked into the Volusia County Branch Jail, with the first instance occurring quite recently. On July 10th of this year, he was arrested on charges of marijuana possession and possession of a controlled substance without a prescription. He was held for a little over eleven hours. This time, he's been in custody for five days and counting as of Tuesday.
Those who may have more information about the potential sexual abuse of a child, whether or not it's related to Nisivoccia's case, are asked to contact the Volusia Sheriff's Office Child Exploitation Unit at (386) 323-3574.
