One man is deceased following a road rage shooting in Daytona Beach on Sunday, according to a statement by the Daytona Beach Police Department. The incident occurred at the McDonald's restaurant located at 2709 LPGA Blvd.

According to the DBPD, they got a call about the shooting Sunday evening, and arrived to find a woman performing CPR on the man who'd been shot. They also were able to locate another man at the scene, who has been identified as the one who did the shooting.

Despite the best efforts of those who responded, victim Brian Collins was pronounced dead at the scene from his gunshot wounds. He was 30 years old. The suspect reportedly told deputies that he was the one who'd pulled the trigger.

A summary of the incident is light on details for the time being, but the DBPD says a discrepancy arose when the two individuals were both in the drive-thru line at the McDonald's. The disagreement escalated, with the shooter saying he feared for his life when he shot Collins.

The shooter's identity has not yet been revealed by the DBPD, and no criminal charges have been announced. The investigation is still active, and it's unclear whether charges will be filed or whether the shooter will be identified.

A person matching Brian Collins' and birthdate exists in the inmate database of the Volusia County Branch Jail, with multiple arrests for charges such as battery, illegal concealed weapon carry, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. It is not conclusively confirmed whether this is the same person as the victim.
