DeLand, FL - Investigators with the DeLand Police Department (DPD) say one man is dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after an early morning domestic disturbance.

Officers with the DPD were called to the West Beresford Avenue home just after midnight on Wednesday (March 3rd) with reports of a domestic disturbance. It was also reported that gunshots may have also been fired during the incident.

When police arrived at the home, officers met with a female involved in the incident who said the male resident had threatened her with violence and also threatened to die by suicide. Police tried to make contact with the male, but to no avail.

After obtaining a search warrant for the home, officers entered the residence and found the male who died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The investigation remains active and ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Chris Jusick at 386-626-7424.
