Ormond Beach, FL - Ormond Beach Police are waiting to find next of kin in order to release the identity of a man found deceased in Thompson Creek on Friday night.
Police responded to a suspicious incident call at Thompson Creek just after 9:30 p.m. The responding officer was told by a transient man on scene that the victim had fallen into the water.
The officer used his flashlight to check the victim, stating in his report that the man appeared to be lifeless as there were no bubbles or water ripples.
EVAC and OBFD removed the man from the water and pronounced him dead. The man was identified through the state of Florida's I.D. system. He was also locally known to officers as a transient who frequented the area around Thompson Creek.
OBPD reports that a general search for next of kin came up with negative results. The case has been turned over to CID.
