NSBCC Votes No To Biketoberfest

New Smyrna Beach, FL - The city of New Smyrna Beach joins Daytona Beach in turning down Biketoberfest next month. The City Commission gave the event a thumbs down by a unanimous vote during last night's (September 22) meeting.

The operating millage rate was approved and remains steady at 3.7421, the same as last year.  The resolution to adopt the Final New Smyrna Beach Budget for Fiscal Year 2020‐2021 was also approved. The annual budget is set at $71,172,899.

Two proclamations were made by Mayor Russ Owen. The first declares October as "Pink Out Month" in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The second recognizes October as "Domestic Violence Awareness Month." Savannah Weaver, Board of Directors for the Domestic Abuse Council - Beacon Center, in Daytona Beach was present to accept the proclamation.
