New Smyrna Beach, FL- On April 7, 2017, the New Smyrna Beach Board of REALTORS will host the 11th annual golf tournament fundraiser at Hidden Lakes Golf Course in New Smyrna Beach, FL. All proceeds are donated to community charities and outreach programs of the NSBBOR.
Plans for the proceeds include awarding funds to nine Volusia County schools to use for supplies as well as presenting 300 local families in need with food baskets at Thanksgiving, containing all the traditional foods. Last year, the event raised a total of over $38,000.
Golfers participate in the networking event by playing 18 holes in scramble format. For an entry fee of $100, golfers receive food and drinks all day provided by local restaurants and sponsors. Local business sponsors create themed holes and offer locally catered appetizers and specialty drinks on-site.
Immediately following the game, the scores are tallied and winners are recognized at the catered banquet. A live band is planned for entertainment. A slideshow highlighting the golfer’s best moments will be played during the banquet. The fundraiser is planned by volunteers of the special events committee along with Lee and Kathy Griffith, owners of the championship golf course. Support from the Platinum sponsors include Mullinax Ford, Buddy Davenport at State Farm Insurance, Judy Lewis with HomeBridge Financial Services, Ken & Anne-Marie Poulin, owners of First Response Disaster Team and Jim & Megan Mennona with Ace Accurate Home Inspections.
