Kevin Para, a member of the NSB Rotary Club, came up with the idea for Ashley's Ride a few weeks after Baker's death. The organization also donated $2,050 to help the Baker family offset costs for Ashley’s funeral expenses.

According to Victoria Fahlberg, Executive Director of First Step Shelter, “We are extremely grateful for all of the support the shelter and Ashley’s family has received from the New Smyrna Beach Rotary Club.  Their support will enable more of our residents to safely get to work and back until they earn enough to pay for their own transportation.”  Kevin Para, of the NSB Rotary Club, said, "Ashley's fate touched so many of us in a deep and profound way.  Ashley's Ride, born out of this tragedy, is a vehicle for positive change in people's lives."
