Orange City, FL - A 10-year-old-girl is unharmed after 60-year-old Daniel Turner pulled up in his car and asked her to get  in as she was walking from the school bus. The girl told Volusia Sheriff's Office (VSO) deputies that Turner "explained that he was not a pervert, or weird, and that he could take care of her. She told him no thanks and kept walking." Two other motorists stopped to check on her and contacted law enforcement.

Deputies responded to the area of West Minnesota Avenue and Spring Hollow Drive, Orange City, around 5:15 p.m. Friday. The witnesses and victim were able to supply a detailed description of the suspect and his vehicle. They located Turner at a home on nearby Jetske Circle, Orange City, where he was taken into custody.

Turner is charged with aggravated stalking of a minor and attempting to lure or entice a child.  He is out of jail on a $7,500 bond.

From VSO: This is a good opportunity to talk to your kids about how to handle encounters like this - and a great example of a community looking out for its children! Thanks all.
