Daytona Beach, FL - The 4th Annual Young Musicians’ Showcase is being held at Mainland High School, hosted by the Daytona Beach Symphony Society (DBSS).

On Thursday, April 13 at 7 PM, high school juniors and seniors will perform at Mainland’s Performing Arts Auditorium, 1255 W. International Speedway Blvd., Daytona Beach. The students have already submitted their works for consideration for a chance to participate. There will be both vocal and instrumental performances in either the art music or classical music genres.

The 16 student performances will be 7 minutes or under and will be judged by several individuals, including the Associate Professor of Piano at Bethune-Cookman University, Dr. Rose Grace. The performances will be from students from Mainland, University, Spruce Creek, Atlantic, and Deland high schools.

The 1st and 2nd place awards will be monetary for both vocal and instrumental performances, but every performer will receive a DBSS gift certificate.

“Serving as a fundraiser for our YES! (Youth Experiencing Symphony) Program, it is an honor to take an evening to encourage and applaud our most talented youth as they inspire the audience with their music,” says Director of Marketing and Development, Tracy Marino.

You can buy tickets in for $10 at the door, in advance here or by calling the DBSS office at 386-253-2901.
