Edgewater, FL - The 10-month investigation into the death of an 18-year-old woman who went missing and was found dead in Edgewater last year has been suspended.
During the Ashlyn Bowman investigation, several rumors surfaced on social media ranging from Bowman being dismembered to her being cremated in a bonfire. According to the Edgewater Police Department, the investigation and the discovery of Bowman's remains were able to refute these rumors.
The examination of her remains by the Human Identification Laboratory at UF and the Volusia County Medical Examiner's Office didn't identify any trauma to Bowman prior to her death, which the medical examiner ruled as "undetermined."
Because the condition of the body and the toxicology report were inconclusive, the case has been suspended until new information surfaces.
