Posted

52-year-old David Von Oesen was arrested on Thursday at his Holly Hill residence, on over two dozen charges of possessing illegal sexual images. Most of the charges concerned child pornography.

According to a report from the Volusia Sheriff's Office, Von Oesen was pretending to be a child on social media in order to entice actual children into sending him nude photographs of themselves. The VSO states he has a history in Lake County including charges of lewd or lascivious molestation of a disabled child, and solicitation of child pornography.

Van Oesen was arrested following the execution of a search warrant at his apartment on 3rd Street in Holly Hill on Thursday. Before being booked into the Volusia County Branch Jail, he was charged with 19 counts of possession of a sexual performance by a child, plus seven counts of possession of photos depicting sexual acts with animals.

Currently, Von Oesen remains in custody at the Volusia County Branch Jail on no bond for his alleged crimes. An investigation is underway by the VSO's Child Exploitation Unit, with more charges possible for Van Oesen depending on the results of the investigation.
