Daytona Beach, FL - A Volusia County health and human services coalition is holding a summit Friday in an effort to benefit professionals and area residents. The coalition works with over 100 agencies and organizations in the human services field, including the school system and everything from prenatal care through Halifax Hospice end of life services.
Julie Barrow, Executive Director of One Voice for Volusia said the summit gives professionals a place to network and residents a place to get free health screenings and information on resources. For children, the United Way Help Me Grow program and Easter Seals will be available for assessments and screenings.
Another feature of the summit are the 16 classes available for professionals and residents, with classes on sex abuse treatment, human trafficking training, domestic violence and a non-profit to name a few. You can find more information on the classes, screenings, and assessments available at the One Voice for Volusia website, ovfv.org
The 14th annual Health and Human Services Summit takes place in the east wing of the Ocean Center. The classes run from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. The Exhibition Hall is open from 10:45 a.m. until 2:45 p.m.
