DeLand, FL - A former head basketball coach for the University of Central Florida will take over the same job at Stetson University.

Earlier today (April 1st), the Hatters Men's Basketball Team welcomed former UCF men's basketball head coach Donnie Jones into the Stetson family.

Jones, who is the 22nd coach in the program's history, joins Stetson University after a one-year stint as the assistant coach for the University of Dayton.

Before that, he worked as a scout for the Los Angeles Clippers before joining the staff at Wichita State for the 2017-2018 season.

In the spring of 2010, Jones was named the head coach at the University of Central Florida, where he spent six years with the Knights.

While coaching the Knights, Jones and his team amassed 100 wins and reached the postseason twice. He won 20 games in each of his first three seasons before the Knights left Conference USA (C-USA) for the American Athletic Conference (AAC).

"In my short period of time I've really gotten to see the inside of this place and meet the people which is so important to all of our success," Jones said.

Jones will be taking over for former Stetson Men's Basketball Head Coach Corey Williams, who was fired last month (March 9th).
