Fundraiser & Law Enforcement Torch Run For Special Olympics Florida

Volusia County, FL - The Volusia County 2017 Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Florida is set to be held at Daytona International Speedway (DIS) and a Chick-fil-A fundraiser is happening the day before.

Registration begins at 8 AM, Saturday, April 22, at DIS, 1801 W. International Speedway Blvd. The run will begin at 8:30 AM. This year's route will begin and end at the Visitor's Center. The run route is approximately 2.5 miles and will include both pedestrian bridges.

Participants must wear a 'LETR' shirt, which can be purchased the day of the event for $13.

Additionally, on Friday, April 21, from 11 AM to 2 PM, the Volusia County Sheriff's Office (VCSO) and the Daytona Beach Police Department (DBPD) are partnering with Chick-fil-A to raise money and awareness for Special Olympics Florida.

Join Sheriff Mike Chitwood, Chief Craig Capri and members of the VCSO and the DBPD at the Chick-fil-A restaurant located in the Volusia Market Place, 100 N. Williamson Blvd., Daytona Beach.

Customers during the event will have the opportunity to tour Specialized Law Enforcement vehicles and and interact with local law enforcement.

Chick-fil-A will donate 10% of all proceeds during the event to Special Olympics Florida.
