Four men have been criminally charged for their alleged role in a home invasion in DeLand on Wednesday afternoon, which left two of the four injured with gunshot wounds. According to a report from the Volusia Sheriff’s Office, the target of the robbery fired 17 shots at the group’s vehicle.
The incident began sometime shortly before 5:45 pm on Wednesday, when the VSO dispatch received a call about gunshots in an attempted robbery. Detectives say the suspects knew their target from having engaged in drug deals with them. The four are said to have broken in to rob him, before their target drew a gun and began firing.
The four men retreated to their vehicle and attempted to flee the area, with the target firing 17 shots at them as they did. Two of the four were hit and taken to the hospital for treatment. Some time after the incident, deputies tracked down one of the suspects on foot, and another driving the shot-up vehicle. Both were arrested, as were the other two later on.
All four suspects are being held at the Volusia County Branch Jail with no bond for their alleged crimes. All were charged with home invasion/robbery with a firearm/deadly weapon. They are as follows, with their age and residence listed:
Bourn and Williams were the two injured in the gunfire, and Warren was the driver of their vehicle, according to the VSO.
