Flagler Fugitive Arrested in Lake County After Two Weeks

Posted

ASTOR, Fla. - A man was arrested in Lake County last week after spending two weeks as a fugitive from the law in Flagler County. Jacob Bryan was arrested on Friday and charged at the Lake County Jail.

Bryan's run-ins with the FCSO began on February 17th, when he's said to have fled from a traffic stop at Canal Ave and Sherwood St in the Mondx. Bryan and his passenger veered off the road and fled into the woods according to a new FCSO release. The passenger gave themselves up quickly, while Bryan is said to have continued to flee.

A search for Bryan went on for hours, with Flagler County Fire Rescue's Fireflight helicopter even joining. It was to no avail. Law enforcement gave up the search for that day without catching their man.

Not much happened with the case until Friday, when the FCSO Problem Area Crime Enforcement (PACE) team received a tip that Bryan was in Lake County. He was said to be staying at a house in Astor. In conjunction with the Lake County Sheriff's Office's Fugitive Unit, the PACE team located and arrested Bryan. He was booked on charges of selling meth and failure to obey a lawful command.

"Our Florida Sheriff’s Offices work together just, as we did in this case to locate him," said Flagler Sheriff Rick Staly. "Thank you to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance.” Bryan's criminal history in Flagler County includes fentanyl and marijuana possession, methamphetamine trafficking, failure to obey, and felony battery among others.
