Flagler County Opens County Parks & Trails

Bunnell, FL - Flagler County Board of Commissioners makes the move to reopen county parks and trails,  effective immediately. This does not include any beachfront parks. District 4/Vice Chair Joe Mullins made the announcement in a Twitter post earlier today.

Mullins said "As a Flagler County Commissioner, me and the four other guys, we set policy.  We turn around declared a State of Emergency in the County. At that point, we step back and we just communicate what the professionals who go into action are doing." He went on, "With the President saying last night we're going to shift as a nation to start looking at reopening, the Governor saying we're shifting as a state to start looking at reopening, the county, we have now started that dialogue and we've started talking about reopening the community."

Mullins said that no one's been beating him up more than his little girl about reopening the parks and trails. " I'm very excited right now that we are going to open up the Flagler County ran trails. This is not the ones by the request of the municipalities, we are not doing those. We're doing the Flagler County only ones."

Though the trails and parks are open for use, Mullins asks people to continue using the CDC guidelines. "You can start utilizing the trails. I do encourage you to utilize a mask. Turn around and if you're around people, to exercise the six foot social distancing. Do as much as you can to prevent the spread  and continue to do what we're doing."
