PALM COAST, Fla. - The local nonprofit Flagler Cares has announced it will host 'Help Night', its quarterly community event, on April 3rd. The event will take place from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Village Community Room in Palm Coast.
Help Night was created to create free access for the public to a variety of health and social services, provided by an assortment of community partners. It will be open to the public and free of admission charge. On-hand at next month's will be Flagler County Human Services, Early Learning Coalition, EasterSeals, Family Life Center, Florida Legal Services, Lions Club, and others. Each attending organization will be providing information and resources to those in need.
Also available at Help Night will be assistance getting connected to services such as autism screenings, low-income qualified tablets, fair housing legal consultations, the health insurance marketplace, behavioral health, child care, SNAP, and Medicaid.
According to a release issued on Monday by Flagler Cares spokesperson Cheryl Tristam, the purpose of Flagler Cares is to identify needs within the community and creates solutions to address them. "Flagler Cares is also passionate about filling gaps and bringing needed services into the county where they did not previously exist," the statement reads.
The organization was founded in 2013, and became a nonprofit in 2015 according to their official website. Their mission is listed as "to be a driving force behind bold innovations and community improvement creating a coordinated safety net of health and social care services."
