Lake County, FL - Florida Highway Patrol says a Daytona Beach man is dead following a head-on crash in the Lake County area.
Troopers say the crash happened around 6:15 Monday (Dec. 13) morning. According to a report from the agency, the 20-year-old Daytona Beach man was driving westbound on State Road 44 in an SUV near Fentress Lane.
The driver eventually drifted into the eastbound lanes of SR 44 and struck a pickup truck head-on. The Daytona Beach man was pronounced dead on the scene by first responders. The driver of the pickup truck, a 20-year-old Webster man, suffered serious injuries and was transported to AdventHealth Waterman.
The crash remains under investigation.
