Oak Hill, FL - The Florida Highway Patrol is reporting that two of their Auxilliary Troopers found a disabled vehicle that was possibly stolen parked on the right shoulder of I-95 near MM 234 in Oak Hill this morning (January 12) around 11 a.m. They found 20-year-old Samuel Choisie asleep in the back of a 2019 Chevy Malibu.
Dispatch confirmed the rental car was stolen in Delray Beach. Choisie told the state trooper who arrested him that he did not know the car was stolen and that a friend of his sister's loaned him the vehicle. The suspect could not provide a valid name or contact information. This turned out not to be the case as a Delray Beach police officer was able to get a sworn center from the person who rented the car. The victim was able to positively identify Choisie through a photo lineup.
A search of the car found a black purse that belonged to the victim. Troopers also found a green leafy substance, most likely marijuana, in the center console of the car. Choisie claimed it did not belong to him.
Choisie is currently in the Volusia County Jail, charged with dealing in stolen property . His bond is set at $2,500. Delray Beach P.D. will make any charges related to the incident in their jurisdiction.
