Flagler County, FL - After arresting a pair of teenagers connected to a series of car burglaries, the Flagler County Sheriff's Office is looking for another suspect in the crime scene - an Espanola man with a blue Mohawk hairdo.
A Chevrolet Silverado was reported stolen from Palm Coast's Z-section at 5:49 AM on Wednesday. Luckily for deputies, the truck had On-Star, an in-vehicle subscription service that provides security and navigation. Using On-Star, deputies were able to track the location of the vehicle and make a traffic stop. Deputies took two 16-year-olds into custody and charged them both with grand theft auto. According to FCSO, additional charges are possible
Investigators say the teenagers had gone on a crime spree overnight, burglarizing several unlocked vehicles in South Palm Coast. They also stole multiple cars, all of which have been recovered and returned to their owners. Sheriff Rick Staly said this wasn't the 1st time one of the teens has had a run-in with the Sheriff's Office. “Our detectives have already solved 13 cases including burglary and auto thefts committed by these kids during their crime spree," said Staly. "Parents need to take responsibility and know where their kids are and what they are doing. Otherwise, we will keep arresting them until they go to a juvenile reform school and ultimately state prison.”
Detectives think there may be other suspects involved in the crime and they're trying to identify a man from Espanola. They say he goes by the name of Rick and has a blue Mohawk.
