41-year-old Port Orange resident Terrance Gattling was arrested on Thursday for allegedly threatening Campbell Middle School and then subsequently showing up to the Daytona Beach campus. Gattling, a former employee of the school district, is still in custody at the Volusia County Branch Jail as of Friday morning.
The Daytona Beach Police Department said Gattling made some form of threat on social media having been recently placed on administrative leave from his job. He was said to have arrived at the campus at 7:45 am, triggering a security lockdown until his presence could be addressed by law enforcement.
Gattling was charged with cyber stalking and trespassing on school property after a warning, according to his listing in the Volusia County Branch Jail. He has one prior booking, a 2012 arrest for driving with a suspended or canceled driver's license.
His Facebook contains a post which seems to be threatening, but it's unclear whether or not it's directed at the school or some employee thereof. "I'm gonna blast this sh*t on IG," Gattling posted, referring to Instagram. "F*ck You Darien I told you dead beat ass today was coming bitch..... and this my new show till I see u in Tampa lil insecure homie".
