DeLand, FL - A 27-year-old DeLand man, Emmett Boykins, is facing three counts of sexual battery on a child. He was arrested yesterday (December 4) and is being held on no bond at the Volusia County Jail.
The investigation shows that Boykins has had supervised and unsupervised access to children. He's volunteered at DeLand-area churches and has previously worked at Stetson University.
Detectives continue to investigate to determine if there are additional victims. Anyone believing that they or their children may have been victimized by Boykins should contact the Volusia Sheriff's Office Child Exploitation Unit at 386-323-3574.
The charges state that the victim is between the ages of 12 and 18. The VSO will release more information as it becomes available.
