
Daytona Beach, FL - Daytona Beach Police officers responded to a shots fired call yesterday (April 5th) to find a man with an open wound to his left thumb. Officers found 19-year-old Taronn Brown an uncooperative victim.
The officers arrived on scene at about 3:45 p.m. after getting a call from a resident in the 800 block of Lewis Dr. , reporting that she heard approximately ten shots outside her residence. She later told VCSO Central Communication that she could see a male holding a handgun in the front yard.
Brown did not want to give the officers any information on what happened. He was taken to Halifax Hospital by EVAC where he told detectives that he did not want to pursue charges against the person who shot him.
Officers secured the crime scene, then conducted a canvass of the surrounding area. Seventeen casings were found on or near the roadway on Lewis Dr. A nearby residence was hit six times, causing exterior damage to the exterior brick. One bullet broke a window. Officers found one bullet inside the home.
