Locally-raised NASCAR driver Daniel Dye will be promoted to a full-time ride in the NASCAR Xfinity Series next season, his team announced this weekend. Kaulig Racing will be fielding Dye in the #10 Chevrolet, placing him one step away from the highest level of NASCAR racing.
At just 20 years old, Dye is being placed in a position to demonstrate his abilities over a statistically meaningful sample size. So far in 2024, Dye has recorded two top tens in seven races, a number he'll surely strive to improve upon in 2025.
His campaign over two full seasons in the Camping World Truck Series has been notable, but less than dominant. Dye only just notched his first top five finish a few races ago with a second place in Nashville. He placed 18th in the season standings last year with only a lone top ten, having improved that standing to a 10th place campaign thus far in the 2024 season.
Since Kaulig Racing debuted its #10 car in the Xfinity Series in 2018, the ride's occupants have been a who's who of young NASCAR talent. Several drivers have won in the car, including Jeb Burton in 2021, A.J. Allmendinger in 2019 and 2023, and Kyle Larson in 2023. The last three drivers to record a full-time season in the #10 (Ross Chastain, Jeb Burton, and Landon Cassill) all moved on to other seats after just one season.
Having been born in DeLand, Dye grew up around racing in Daytona Beach. His father serves on the Board of Directors for the NASCAR Foundation, and he debuted in the ARCA Menards Series at just 17 years old. He attended Father Lopez Catholic High School, and has raced full-time since 2022.
