
Daytona Beach, FL - Daytona Beach Police Department's Crime Suppression Team with the help of their SWAT team make two arrests, both just a mile and a half away from each other.
Yesterday (February 26th), members with the crime suppression team and SWAT prepared to execute a search warrant against 44-year-old Derick Jones and 29-year-old Freddy Williams.
Both men were part of a two-month long investigation by DBPD, according to Sergeant Kelsey Harris with Daytona Beach police.
Just shortly before three o'clock in the afternoon, both the crime suppression team and SWAT arrived at Jones' South Ridgewood Avenue residence and announced that they were there to execute their warrant against him.
Officers behind Jones' residents watched as Jones threw something out of an opened window.
The item was a black leather handbag that contained around 1.3 grams of meth, 1.4 grams of marijuana, 0.1 grams of cocaine and a set of brass knuckles.
Officers also found a green camouflage bag with drug paraphernalia, a cellphone, digital scale with cocaine residue and one gram of heroin.
After finding all of the items outside, the SWAT team made entry into Jones' residence and secured him and two females, one identified as 39-year-old Joni Harper.

Harper, was found to have an open warrant for violation of pre-trial release in reference to four possession charges and one trespass charge.
SWAT team members searched the residence and found a black .40 cal hand gun and a magazine with multiple .40 caliber rounds.
It's not clear at the moment if the other woman was charged with any crimes.
All three occupants of the home were trespassed from the property, per the owner.

As the SWAT team approached his residence, officers noticed multiple suspects flee.
After Williams spotted the SWAT team, he slammed the door and ran. Officers then forced their way in to clear the residence.

After being read his Miranda Rights, Williams told officers that none of the stuff belonged to the detained female and it was all his. He led officers through the house and showed them where he hid his narcotics, even admitting that he tried to flush cocaine when he noticed SWAT members arriving.
In the bathroom of the home, SWAT members found 1.5 grams of cocaine. 1.5 grams of crack cocaine was found in the kitchen along with another 1.2 grams of cocaine and a black scale with cocaine residue.
A number of pills and half a gram of marijuana was also found in Williams' bedroom.
Jones was charged with six different counts of possession, tampering with physical evidence, possession of ammunition by a convicted felon and battery.
The report given by Daytona Beach police does not specify why and when Jones was charged with battery.
Williams was charged with four different counts of possession, which included one count of possession with intent to sell.
Records show that Jones and Harper currently being held at Volusia County Jail without bond. Williams is no longer in custody.
