Christmas Comes To Daytona Beach On Saturday

Daytona Beach, FL - On Saturday, the Christmas spirit kicks in in Daytona Beach.  Volusia County's 11th annual Light Up Volusia event takes place at the Ocean Center from 5 until 6:30 p.m.  The Love Band and America’s Got Talent season 10 finalist Benton Blount, as well as the traditional lighting of the Ocean Center's holiday tree, complete with over 1,300 lights. After the tree lighting, head over to the Halifax River for this year's Daytona Beach Christmas Boat Parade.  The boats will travel south from the Seabreeze Bridge beginning at 6 p.m. According to the city of Daytona Beach, the best viewing spots include anywhere on City Island, the west end of the Veteran's Memorial Bridge (also known as the Orange Avenue Bridge), the north basin of the Halifax Harbor Marina, and along the riverfront on South Beach Street.
