'Bad' Easter Bunny Captured In Palm Coast

Palm Coast, FL - A woman the Flagler County Sheriff's Office says put Easter eggs filled with an assortment of items, including a paper showing pornographic images, into mailboxes, was arrested yesterday (April 8). Forty-two-year-old Abril Cestoni, of Palm Coast, is being held at the Flagler County Jail  on a $7,000 bond.

FCSO received the first calls from residents throughout the county this past Sunday about the Easter eggs.  Yesterday, they received multiple calls from residents reporting that a female was once
again placing plastic eggs in mailboxes, this time on Hernandez Avenue. Investigators had identified the suspect vehicle as a 2004 silver Honda Civic. The Problem Area Crime Enforcement Unit searched the area the reports were coming from and found Cestoni's car after 11 p.m.  traveling on Belle Terre Parkway near Whiteview Parkway. A traffic stop was initiated.

Cestoni admitted to putting the Easter eggs in the mailboxes, saying she was trying to educate people. A bag full of pornographic material was found in her car. She told deputies that she had distributed over 400 pamphlets in the past few days throughout Flagler County.

“Our team did a great job in tracking this deranged offender down and taking her into custody,” Sheriff
Rick Staly said. “Thankfully she did not appear to be sick with COVID-19 symptoms, but she certainly
needs some help. This again proves that ‘see something, say something’ works and we thank the
community for being part of our guardianship policing philosophy.”

Cestoni is charged with 11 counts of Distributing Obscene Material. She does not have a valid driver’s license so is also charged with Driving
with a Suspended License and Violating Executive Order 20-91 for conducting travel not related to
essential activity.
