Atlantic H.S. Lock Down Ends With Student Arrests

Port Orange, FL - Lunchtime at Atlantic High School today saw fights in the courtyard, a code red lockdown and the arrest of eleven students as a result.

The lockdown went into place around noon. after several fights started in the school courtyard. The Volusia Sheriff's Office reports that an adult male, who came onto campus with a parent, was arrested for trespassing and carrying a concealed weapon - brass knuckles.

Volusia sheriff's deputies and Port Orange police officers responded to the school and were quickly able to break things up. They say no guns or knives were involved and no students were injured

A school official was taken to the hospital with chest pains.
