2024 Ormond Mayor's Fitness Challenge Starting in February

ORMOND BEACH, Fla. - The 2024 edition of the Mayor's Health & Fitness Challenge in Ormond Beach is set to begin next month. The challenge lasts eight weeks, and encourages residents to be active and hone their physical fitness.

The event starts with a weigh-in on Saturday, February 10th from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at the South Ormond Neighbourhood Center. At the end of the challenge, the participants with the greatest weight loss by BMI will be eligible for cash prizes.

Eight categories will be measured as part of the Mayor's Health & Fitness Challenge: 17 and under, 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80 and older. There will be a $35 fee to participate, or a $70 family fee which includes up to three children. A residency verification will be required at sign-up.

A slate of health and fitness classes, still to be announced by the Ormond Beach city government, will be available as part of the eight-week fitness program to help participants shed pounds.
