Daytona Beach, FL - Two men in Daytona Beach are behind bars after they assaulted and robbed a 19-year-old woman who delivered them food Tuesday evening.
Matthew Camacho, a 24-year-old transient, and Lucas Graupman, age 21 of New Smyrna, robbed Veronica Rodriguez, who was making a delivery from Jimmy Johns to the two men. The robbery occurred around 6:39 PM at 917 Julia St. in Daytona Beach.
Rodriguez drove up to the address to make the delivery, and when she exited her vehicle, the two men approached her. Rodriguez gave the men the food. She reached for money to provide change since the customer who had placed the order on the phone had requested change for $100. The phone number from which the order was placed was the same phone number given in the police report under Graupman's residence.
As Rodriguez was reaching for the money, Graupman sprayed her in the face with mace, and Camacho pinned her down to the pavement by the neck, according the police report. The men took the money, $76, from Rodriguez and stole her car keys. One of the men told her to wait there ten minutes, and the two searched through her car. While Rodriguez was on the ground, she noticed the men running west. When she got to her feet, she checked her car and noticed that $60 in cash, a black Coach wallet, her iPhone 7, and her bank debit card were all missing.
When police arrived at the scene, Rodriguez identified the two men from a photo lineup at the scene of the robbery, according to the police report. Another witness recognized the description of the men and said she had also taken a photo of them after a separate suspicious incident with a Chinese delivery person earlier that evening.
The two men were later found and taken into custody. Both were held on $45,000 bond with charges including Robbery With a Weapon.
