Two pedestrians are dead and one more is in critical condition following a hit-and-run crash in Flagler County, according to a report from Florida Highway Patrol. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The suspect, a 51-year-old man from Palm Coast, was said to be traveling northbound on US-1 in a pickup truck around 12:15 am, according to the FHP report. He was in the right lane approaching an area where three pedestrians were crossing. A 50-year-old woman, a 59-year-old woman, and a 48-year-old man were walking across the northbound lanes of US-1 at an unspecified section of the road, though details suggest it may have been in Bunnell near SR-100.

The truck hit the three pedestrians, killing both of the two women, both Palm Coast residents. The man, a Bunnell resident, was also injured but was hospitalized and is said to be in critical condition as of the most recent update. Neither the driver nor an unidentified 49-year-old female passenger, also a Palm Coast resident, were injured.

Following the collision the truck is said to have left the scene unlawfully, but was found soon thereafter at Terranova's Pizzeria. It's not specified whether the driver and/or passenger have been arrested since the collision, but Florida Highway Patrol said charges were pending in the hours following.

As of Monday afternoon, no inmates have been booked into the Flagler County Jail fitting the description of the pickup truck's driver. The identities of the victims remain unspecified while law enforcement works to inform their next-of-kin.
