Volusia County, FL - Volusia County's Supervisor of Elections has sent out new Voter Information Cards to 1,723 voters registered with the "Independence" Party of FL, which was disbanded by the FL Division of Elections in early April.
The party was disbanded for failing to comply with certain statutory requirements.
Per state guidelines, the political party of the voters who were registered to the "Independence" Party defaulted to No Party Affiliation, or NPA. Voters who don't want to be NPA can complete the form on the back of their new Voter Information Card or fill out a new Voter Registration Application.
In March, 9,750 Volusia County voters got the same notice when the "Independent" Party was disbanded for the same reason. The "Independent" Party of FL's new party status was approved on April 20. That means it is once again an eligible minor party in the state. Voters who want to register with the "Independent" Party can do so by submitting an FL Voter Registration Application.
