DeLand, FL —Parents across Volusia County are invited to spend next Saturday morning sampling a taste of 21st Century education and learning about ways to support their children in kindergarten through 12th grade.

On Saturday, February 11, Parent University will be offered from 8 a.m. to noon at DeLand High School, 800 N. Hill Avenue.

Parent University is a free half-day conference that helps parents and caregivers support the academic life of children in kindergarten through 12th grade. Classes focus on academic and support programs in Volusia County Schools, effective strategies families can use to help every child succeed, and ways to advocate for the resources necessary for our public schools. Participants will explore a showcase of student opportunities and then attend a general session followed by two classes (click here to view classes).

This is a free event. All materials will be provided. Free childcare is provided with advance registration for children in grades kindergarten through 5th grade only.

Parent University is offered through a partnership of Volusia County Schools with the Alliance for Public Schools and the Volusia United Educators. To register, visit http://all4schools.org/volusia/ or click here.
