Volusia County, FL- Volusia County Animal Services is now accepting appointments for

January at its new spay/neuter clinic located at 1250 Indian Lake Road,

Daytona Beach. The state-of-the-art clinic will provide low-cost and

reduced-fee animal sterilization to residents of unincorporated areas of

Volusia County and the cities of DeLand and South Daytona. Services at

the new spay/neuter clinic are by appointment only.

Residents seeking low-cost pet spaying and neutering must show proof of

public assistance, such as a Medicaid, Women, Infants and Children (WIC)

or food stamp identification card. Residents must also show proof of

income and meet income eligibility guidelines, which are based on the

number of people in the household and the annual household income.

Prices range from $15 to $65 and are based on income. Residents who do

not meet the criteria for the guidelines will be referred to another

low-cost spay/neuter program.

Services at the new clinic include spay and neuter surgeries, rabies

vaccinations, and county licenses for owners of pets who live in

unincorporated Volusia County and the cities of DeLand and South

Daytona. Residents with cats that are spayed or neutered under the

county Trap/Neuter/Return (TNR), Free Roaming Cat (FRC) and Return To

Field (RTF) programs will also receive a feline distemper vaccination

and ear-tipping in addition to the rabies vaccination.

With the opening of the new spay/neuter clinic, the mobile Pet Vet

Cruiser will continue to provide services throughout the county,

visiting alternative areas once a week. In fiscal year 2015-2016, the

Pet Vet Cruiser performed 2,888 surgeries. With the implementation of

the new clinic, Animal Services anticipates performing more than 3,000

surgeries annually.
