Tobacco Free Volusia Hosts Seminar On How Tobacco Companies Target Youth

Volusia County, FL — The Tobacco Free Volusia County Partnership will host a seminar at 4 PM, Monday, March 27, on retail tobacco marketing. The 90-minute seminar will be held at the Florida Department of Health in Volusia County, 1845 Holsonback Dr., Daytona Beach.

John Szabo, Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco special agent, will discuss retail tobacco licensing, monitoring, regulation and sales to minors. He also will answer questions on the tobacco retail environment and how the tobacco industry targets youth.

The Partnership is a county-wide, locally organized group committed to saving lives and improving the overall health and well-being of residents and visitors by reducing and/or eliminating the use of tobacco products. The Partnership is organized to advocate on the local, state and national level for: prevention of the initiation of tobacco use among youth; protection from secondhand smoke, and promotion of tobacco cessation.
