Scout Days Returns To The Roar Before The Rolex 24 At Daytona Intl. Speedway

Daytona Beach, FL– Scout Days, which turns the “World Center of Racing’s” infield into a unique camping retreat, will return to Daytona International Speedway on Jan. 5-7 for the Roar Before The Rolex 24, the three-day annual test session for the Rolex 24 At Daytona weekend.

 Boy and Girl Scouts from throughout the Southeast will participate in activities such as fishing on Lake Lloyd (campers must bring their own fishing reels), scavenger hunts, geocaching, movie night and getting up close to the teams and drivers from the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge as they test their cars on the 3.56-mile road course in preparation for their grueling and challenging season-opening events.

In addition, for the first time in event history, a race has been added to the Roar Before the Rolex 24 schedule – the season-opening race for the IMSA Prototype Challenge.

Girl Scouts will once again have a dedicated camping area and can participate in special question-and-answer sessions and tours with female drivers, engineers, and mechanics.

Scout Days admission, which is $30 per person if purchased on/before Dec. 15 and $40 per person if purchased afterward, includes:

  • Two nights of tent camping (bring your own tents, sleeping bags, and firewood)
  • $10 in DAYTONA Dollars, good at any DIS concession stand
  • Speedway Tour
  • Collectible patch
  • Garage access (limited times)

In addition, on Saturday morning, Jan. 6, there will be a tri-oval track walk where Scouts will walk pit road and have the opportunity to sign the start/finish line.

DIS has also put together a special Scout offer for the Advance Auto Parts Clash weekend which includes a general admission stadium ticket for Advance Auto Parts Clash race and DAYTONA 500 Qualifying Presented By Kroger on Sunday, Feb. 11. The package, available for $55 for adults and $15 for kids 12 and under, also includes infield access Feb. 9-11 with overnight tent camping in a secure area within the infield and $10 in DAYTONA Dollars.
