Daytona Beach, FL - Returning for the 10th year, the Daytona Beach Half Marathon is back and better than ever.

The 2019 event will take place Feb. 9 and 10 and will feature a new half marathon route, as well as new challenge opportunities with the addition of a Saturday afternoon beach run.

The 13.1-mile race again offers runners the opportunity to start on the famed tri-oval track of Daytona International Speedway and run to the hard-packed sands of the beach, where racing got its name.

New for 2019, the race will finish at ONE DAYTONA, directly across from Daytona International Speedway, where runners will celebrate with drinks, food and awards.

“We’re excited to once again be a part of the Daytona Beach Half Marathon and to see the event continue to grow and evolve in 2019,” Daytona International Speedway President Chip Wile said. “It’s great to see that next year’s event will now incorporate ONE DAYTONA and be a part of the opening weekend of NASCAR competition. Runners are going to have even more to see and do throughout the weekend.”

2019 will also expand festivities over two days, with the addition of a 5K— an out-and-back on the beach Saturday afternoon. The Beachin’ It 5K will be followed by a beach party and bonfire.

The addition of a new race also offers expanded challenge opportunities. Runners may choose one of the two 5K events or the half marathon, or they can tackle one of two challenges. The Duel 5K Challenge allows runners to compete in both the Saturday Beachin’ It 5K and Sunday Lap the Track 5K for a total of 6.2 miles over two days.

Runners wanting to log more miles may tackle the Speedway Challenge and run both the Saturday Beachin’ It 5K and Sunday half marathon, a total of 16.2 miles over two days!

Participants of either challenge will earn a third finisher medal, and Speedway Challenge participants will also earn a unique, Speedway Challenge branded apparel item.

Early bird registration, from July 1 to Sept. 30, is $65 for the Daytona Beach Half Marathon, $55 for the Half Marathon Relay, $25 for the Beachin’ It 5K, $30 for the Lap the Track 5K, $50 for the Duel 5K Challenge, and $120 for the Speedway Challenge.
