Palm Coast Offers Frieda's Festive Fridays At Community Pool

Palm Coast, FL – It’s summertime in Palm Coast, which means it’s time to head to Frieda Zamba Swimming Pool and enjoy Frieda’s Festive Fridays, as well as a full schedule of lessons, special events, and classes brought to you by Palm Coast Parks & Recreation.

Come to Frieda’s Festive Fridays at Frieda’s Zamba Swimming Pool, 339 Parkview Drive, Palm Coast, and join our staff with these monthly fun, games, and activities starting 5:30-7:15 p.m. Friday, June 8. Other summer dates include July 13 and Aug. 10. Each Friday will include a new activity free with paid pool admission. For more information contact 386-986-4741.

The fun will continue Friday, June 22, with the first Dive-In Movie of the summer featuring “Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Men Tell No Tales” (PG-13). Enjoy the movie on the big screen while floating around in the pool. Doors will open at 8 p.m., and the movie will begin about 8:30 p.m. Admission is $1 for seniors/youth and $2 for adults. Please note this event allows a maximum of 300 people in the facility and a maximum of 148 in the water. Another Dive-In Movie is scheduled for July 20 and will feature Spider-Man: Homecoming (PG-13). More info: 386-986-4741 and www.palmcoastgov.com/movies.

Aqua Zumba is also back for summer 2018! Aqua Zumba blends Zumba philosophy with water resistance for a more challenging fitness routine. $40 per session or $8 drop-in. Register at www.palmcoastgov.com/register for the classes listed below:

  • Mondays and Wednesdays from 7-8 p.m.
  • Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9-10 a.m.

There are many other fun classes and lessons coming up at the pool:

  • Water Aerobics – While similar to land aerobics, water aerobics differs because the training focuses on additional components of water resistance and buoyancy, in addition to aerobic endurance. Classes are offered 9-10 a.m. Fridays. The fee is $40 for a five-week session or $8 per week. Pre-register at: www.palmcoastgov.com/register.
  • American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification Class – To become certified as a lifeguard, this class will be offered Friday-Sunday, June 29-July 1, with the Friday class being 4-8 p.m., the Saturday class being 8 a.m.-6 p.m., and the Sunday class being 8 a.m.-1 p.m. The purpose of the American Red Cross Lifeguarding class is to provide entry-level lifeguard participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies. The fee is $235 and includes books, CPR mask, and certification fee. Pre-register at: www.palmcoastgov.com/register.
