Ormond Beach, FL- This year we wanted to “shake and swing” things up! There will be entertainment for people of all ages. It’s a 1950’s themed “Sock Hop” at National Night Out!
The night will feature a Classic Car Show, drive-in movie, swing dance demos, face painting, photo ops, raffles, music from local radio stations and so much more! The Daytona Beach Tortugas’ mascot Sheldon is ready to spread some cheer. There are some tasty food trucks like SWAT Food Truck, CURBIE’s and CHIPHI that are ready to serve up some awesome dishes. Schmancy Pops, a local favorite, will be there to cool the summer night with their amazing flavors. Several local companies will be represented and will even compete in a lip sync battle! There is also a special guest that the children will love to meet. Annually over 15,000 communities across the United States join forces and celebrate National Night Out. A Nationwide attendance of over 37 million people from all 50 States, U.S. Territories, Canadian Cities, and our Military Bases worldwide will come together in an effort to promote a Community and Police Partnership. National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. It furthermore provides an opportunity to bring police and neighbors together. The City of Ormond Beach Police Department will host the National Night Out event on Tuesday August 2nd, 2016. It will be at the Nova North Community Center, 440 N. Nova Rd. Ormond Beach, FL. The event hours will be between 5:00pm and 8:00pm and there is no cost to attend.
