OBPD’s ‘Back The Blue’ Kickball Challenge Hosted By Riverbend Academy

Ormond Beach, FL- Who wouldn’t want to kick it with the police? The 2nd Annual “Back the Blue” Kickball Challenge will be at the Riverbend Academy on March 9th, 2017 between 1030a.m. and 1230 p.m. Z88.3 radio will be on site to provide music. VCSO bomb team will be attending to demonstrate and detonate. Snow cones and refreshments served after the game.

Last year, the crowd cheered for both Ormond’s Finest and the Riverbend Academy team in a 45-minute exhibition soccer challenge where the students took an easy victory. The officers are hoping for a different result this time. This year, Volusia County Sheriff’s Office is teaming up with OBPD to take on the Riverbend Academy Warriors in a kickball challenge.

The program’s goal is to advance the practice of community policing through improving relationships and communication between police officers and community members. The police department hopes to share some smiles with everyone in attendance and get to know everyone little better while having some fun too!
