Nighttime Ramp Closures Scheduled At I-4 And Dirksen Drive Interchange

Posted

Volusia County, FL – Motorists are advised to expect ramp closures on the eastbound Interstate 4 (I-4) exit ramp to Dirksen Drive (Exit 108) from about 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27, and Wednesday, Feb. 28. Traffic will be directed to continue east on I-4 to Saxon Boulevard (Exit 111) toward Orange City and take I-4 westbound back to Dirksen Drive.

Additionally, traffic will be shifted slightly on the I-4 westbound entrance ramp from Dirksen Drive on Sunday, Feb. 25, and Monday, Feb. 26, from 8:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. Please note the ramp will remain open. Drivers can also expect nighttime single lane closures with a traffic shift along Dirksen Drive near the I-4 ramps.

The closures are necessary to construct foundations for new highway lighting. The work is part of a Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) project to install new lighting along I-4 at the interchanges with U.S. 17/92, Dirksen Drive, Orange Camp Road, State Road (S.R.) 472, S.R. 44 and U.S. 92.

Electronic message boards and other signage will be used to direct motorists. Please note schedules may change due to weather or other circumstances. Construction updates are available on FDOT’s Central Florida website, www.cflroads.com, or by contacting Public Information Coordinator Carolyn Fitzwilliam at 386-740-3566 or carolyn.fitzwilliam@dot.state.fl.us.
