Middle School Students And Families Invited To High School Showcase

DeLand, FL – Volusia County Schools will sponsor its 12th Annual High School Showcase Event on Thursday, December 14, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at the Volusia County Fairgrounds/Tommy Lawrence Arena, 3150 East New York Avenue, DeLand. The event is free and open to the public.  Seventh and eighth-grade students and their parents will have the opportunity to learn about the career academies, career and technical education (CTE), international baccalaureate (IB) programs, Cambridge/Advanced International Certificate of Education (AICE) and other school programs available in each of Volusia County’s ten high schools. Teachers, and students who are currently enrolled in these programs, will be on-site to speak with 7th and 8th-grade students and parents. Printed copies of the District Career Academy Application, IB Application, and Cambridge/AICE Application will be available at school tables. In addition, representatives will be available to answer questions about district-sponsored programs such as English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), dual enrollment, Volusia Online Learning, industry certifications, Exceptional Student Education (ESE), and school health. Administrative personnel from each high school will be present to communicate individual school information.
