Learn About Summer Lawn Care And Fertilizer Ban

DeLand, FL– Joe Sewards will offer tips on lawn care and fertilizers from 10 a.m.
to noon Saturday, May 21, at the Volusia County Agricultural Center,
3100 W. New York Ave., DeLand.

Sewards, an urban and residential horticulturist with the University of
Florida/Volusia County Extension, will explain how to prepare your lawn
for summer in light of the county’s summertime fertilizer ban. Under
the fertilizer ordinance, residents and businesses may not use
fertilizers containing nitrogen or phosphorous from June 1 through Sept.
30.

The $5 program fee can be paid at the door. Light refreshments and
handouts will be provided.
