Daytona Beach, FL- Learn about dollhouses at Daytona Beach Regional Library

Do you have a small obsession with miniatures? Learn how to make dollhouses to scale during a free program at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, in the Launch Pad of the Daytona Beach Regional Library at City Island, 105 E. Magnolia Ave., Daytona Beach.

Presenters will be Elsa Gresham, who has been doing miniatures since 1977 and has taught many classes in hobby shops; and Library Assistant Charles Schwab, who also enjoys tinkering with tiny homes. They will discuss the different types of miniatures and help participants make a small project out of scrapbooking paper.

Gresham will display a miniature replica she created of St. Julien Perlmutter's home. Perlmutter is a character in Clive Cussler's Dirk Pitt fiction series. The house, which is on display in the Launch Pad through Oct. 1, contains more than 1,000 books made by Gresham.

Reservations are not required for this free program, which is sponsored by the Friends of the Daytona Beach Library. For more information, contact Lorri Davis at ljdavis@volusia.org or 386-257-6036, ext. 16154.
